It’s November. And that means the 3rd Annual Dolls for Daughters® and Toys for Boys® Toy Shop is just around the corner.
The annual event will be December 8 at Stanley British Primary School, 350 Quebec Street, next to the Lowry Town Center. Doors will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. or when the toys are all gone.
“Last year we served 2,000 children,” said Jessica Bachus, founder of Dolls for Daughters®. “This year our goal is to serve 3,000. We plan to provide each child with a new toy, a new stocking stuffer, a new book (A Glove of Their Own) and a new toothbrush and toothpaste kit.”
More volunteers are needed, Bachus added—for the event itself and to help with setup starting at 3 p.m. the day before. Click here to register as a volunteer. Donations are still being accepted as well, Bachus said.
To participate, families must show a birth certificate for each child they want to receive a toy and the other items being distributed at the toy shop. Birth certificates from anywhere are accepted and are required even for children who are present. No exceptions will be made and other forms of identification, such as Social Security cards or school IDs, won’t be accepted.
