Saunders Construction Inc., a leader in construction management and commercial real estate development across the Rocky Mountain region, is proving that building communities is just as important as building infrastructure. With their employee-led philanthropic initiative, Building Communities in Kindness (BCiK), Saunders Construction has partnered with Kenzi’s Causes to create a brighter future for children in need. Through innovative fundraising and heartfelt volunteerism, Saunders is making a lasting impact.
Saunders Construction discovered Kenzi’s Causes through word of mouth in November 2023. “We really liked what Kenzi’s Causes was all about, and it seemed to align perfectly with the BCiK mission,” said Jill Bubenik, Integrated Service Coordinator and BCiK Chairperson at Saunders.
This connection quickly blossomed into a meaningful partnership. From that point on, Saunders Construction committed to supporting Kenzi’s Causes by volunteering, collecting toy donations, attending Gala 4 Kidz, and offering financial support. Saunders Construction’s involvement demonstrated its passion for making a difference.
One of Saunders Construction’s early contributions was supporting Kenzi’s Causes’ annual Toy Shop. In December 2024, this initiative distributed 31,843 gifts to 17,355 low-income children across Colorado. With the help of Saunders and many other organizations, the effort served 2,089 families through six toy shops, bringing joy and relief to countless households during the holiday season.
Saunders played a key role by rallying their employees to collect toys and volunteer their time, helping Kenzi’s Causes reach this monumental goal.
“We haven’t worked with Kenzi’s Causes that long, but every interaction has been a positive experience,” shared Caitlyn Richard, a BCiK committee member. “It was a BLAST! We had such a great time! And Jessica is so enjoyable to work with, her testimony and motivation are so inspiring.”
In addition to their holiday efforts, Saunders Construction holds an annual Clay Shoot fundraising event, the proceeds of which go directly to Kenzi’s Causes. This employee-organized initiative strengthens the team’s camaraderie and raises significant funds to support Kenzi’s impactful programs.
“Find a cause that you are passionate about!” Saunders encourages, and their passion for youth-focused initiatives shines through. The Clay Shoot event exemplifies how Saunders Construction combines creativity and dedication to support the community.
