About the Program
Every child deserves to walk into school feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn. Through Packz 4 Kidz, we provide thousands of children across Colorado with brand-new backpacks filled with grade-specific school supplies — ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
For many families facing financial hardship, purchasing school supplies is a real challenge. 1 in 5 Colorado children live in poverty, making basic educational resources out of reach. Students without proper supplies are more likely to struggle academically, feel disconnected from peers, and experience lower self-esteem.
Our founder Jessica Bachus — a former public school teacher — understands this firsthand. Packz 4 Kidz has grown from serving 131 children in 2013 to more than 9,000 annually across Denver, Avon, Grand Junction, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo.
