About the Program
Launched in September 2024, Sportz 4 Kidz is a program by Kenzi's Causes designed to make sports accessible to all children in Colorado, regardless of their family's financial situation. Understanding the significant role that sports play in a child's development, Sportz 4 Kidz covers fees and provides necessary gear so that every child has the opportunity to participate.
Research shows that participating in sports can significantly enhance a child's physical, mental, and social well-being. Children who play sports tend to have lower stress levels, improved self-esteem, and better academic performance — developing crucial life skills like teamwork, leadership, and resilience along the way.

What is Sportz4Kidz?+
Sportz4Kidz is a program of Kenzi's Causes launched in September 2024 to help make youth sports more accessible and affordable for families across Colorado. The program provides financial assistance for sports registration fees and, in some cases, required uniforms or gear, so children can participate regardless of their family's financial situation.
How do I apply for funding from Sportz4Kidz?+
Applications are shared only when they are open. Please make sure you are following Kenzi's Causes on Facebook and Instagram, as application links and updates are posted on our Facebook page and shared in our Instagram stories when funding rounds open. Applications are not available year-round and are only accessible during open application periods.
How often do applications open?+
Applications typically open quarterly in January, April, July, and October. Application openings are dependent on available funding. If additional funding becomes available, we may open additional application rounds, which will be announced on our Facebook page.
Who is eligible for Sportz4Kidz funding?+
We fund children who: are ages 3–18, live in Colorado, are interested in participating in a sport or organized athletic activity, and demonstrate financial need.
If I have more than one child, can I apply for all of them?+
Yes. You may apply for funding for each eligible child, but a separate application must be completed for each child.
Can my child receive funding more than once in a year?+
Due to limited funding and the high number of applications we receive, we are often unable to fund the same child more than once in a calendar year.
Can I apply for funding every year?+
Currently, during Q1 (January) of each year, applications are limited to new families only to allow us to reach as many children as possible.
What sports do you fund?+
We consider funding for any activity defined as a sport — an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others. Funding decisions are made based on eligibility, need, available funding, and alignment with our program goals.
Will you fund travel related to my child's sport?+
In some cases, travel expenses have been funded, but all travel-related requests are evaluated individually and are not guaranteed.
Do you know of other organizations that help with sports funding?+
Yes. We encourage families to contact United Way by dialing 2-1-1 (211) and ask about additional community resources that may provide assistance with youth sports, activities, or fees.
