Our Story
A Tragedy That Continues to Bring Hope
In 2007, founder Jessica Bachus began her journey of giving after experiencing the immense and unexpected loss of her daughter Kenzi, who was stillborn at 35 weeks. With her grief, Jessica started a doll drive for underprivileged girls in Colorado, giving a holiday to girls who wouldn't otherwise receive one.
Colorado communities began to recognize Jessica's work and she capitalized on a momentum bigger than she could have ever imagined. What started as a small, heartfelt gesture grew into a full nonprofit organization serving thousands of families.
Today, Kenzi's Causes has distributed more than 126,000 toys, school supplies, sports equipment, and more across Colorado. The organization continues to grow, providing more tools, resources, and programs for families who would otherwise go without.

Our History
The Journey to Kenzi's Causes
2007 — The Beginning
After losing her daughter Kenzi at 35 weeks, Jessica Bachus starts a small doll drive for underprivileged girls in Colorado.
2009 — First Official Toy Shop
Community response leads to the first official Toy Shop event, distributing hundreds of toys to local families.
2012 — Kenzi's Kidz Launches
A year-round program is created to serve families with monthly events, pantry support, and summer programming.
2013 — Packz 4 Kidz Begins
Back-to-school backpack distribution expands across Colorado, sending children to school prepared to learn.
2019 — Sportz 4 Kidz Added
Sports equipment program launches, helping youth participate in athletics regardless of financial barriers.
2022 — Annual Events Grow
Golf 4 Kidz and Gala 4 Kidz are established as signature annual fundraising events.
2025 — 18 Years & Counting
Over 126,000 children served. Kenzi's Causes continues to grow its impact across Colorado.
