Dolls for Daughters® raised nearly $18,000 for needy kids at our 2nd Annual Invitational Scramble Golf Tournament July 27 at The Ridge in Castle Pines North.
That’s $5,400 more than we raised at our inaugural golf tournament last year.
“I’m so grateful to everyone who helped make this event such a huge success,” said Jessica Bachus, Dolls for Daughters® founder and president. “Our sponsors and volunteers went the extra mile and then some. And we had a great turnout by people who showed up to play.”
Balfour Beatty Rail Inc. was presenting sponsor for the tournament for the second straight year. Dynalectric was the silver sponsor. North/Western Electrical, Rail Services Corporation and Jones & Keller were bronze sponsors. Eagle sponsors were Benson and Case, All Cable, RAC Transport, Hercules, Nylund’s Collision Center and Cherry Creek Mortgage.
The team of Jeff Little of Trinity Title, Clint Thompson of Wells Fargo, Dan Tessmer of Real Estators Professionals and Jerry Haberkorn of Re/Max Professionals won the tournament with a 17-under-par 54.
Proceeds from the golf tournament and other fundraising activities through the year will be used to buy toys for the annual Dolls for Daughters® and Boys Toy Shop to be held December 8. Last year 2,000 boys and girls received new toys at the Toy Shop. This year’s goal is for 3,000 children to receive a new toy, new stocking stuffer, new book and new toothbrush/toothpaste kit at the event.
Founded in 2007, Dolls for Daughters® has rapidly grown to be one of Denver’s major contributors of toys for needy children at Christmas. Its sister organization, Kenzi’s Kidz, provides year-round financial support to several low-income families taking steps to create a stable environment for their children. The families are chosen from clients of Warren Village, Joshua Station and Hope House of Colorado, based on nominations from the staffs of the three organizations.
