Kenzi’s Causes, a Denver-based nonprofit that provides low income children and families assistance held the 4th annual Give 4 Kidz Luncheon at the Wellshire Event Center on October 3rd. Over 80 attendees attended the Luncheon to hear from a panel of 3 of the 38 Kenzi’s Kidz families lead by Kyle Dyer who asked them to share their experience with the program and how it is impacted their lives.
In addition to all of the inspiring and heart felt stories shared, Jeff Jackson received the 2019 Volunteer of the Year award for his ongoing commitment to Kenzi’s Causes. Jeff has volunteered with the organization tirelessly delivering furniture to families, picking up donations and heading up the KClub program, a program created to connect male role models with male children raised by single moms in the program.
This afternoon was full of emotion for an amazing cause; Kenzi’s Causes as the Youth Advisory Board President, Vivek Shah shared why he gives back to the organization and why others should to. A video of his speech can be viewed here. Proceeds from this event benefit our annual Dolls for Daughters and Toys for Boys Toy shops in December. 15,000 children will be served across the state throughout the 6 different toy shop locations. All attendees received first access to sign up for one of the 600 volunteer spots for the upcoming toy shop and 75% of the spots were filled within the first 2 days of opening registration.
Sponsors of the event include Kyle Dyer Storytelling, Rettig & Co, Plum Sage Flowers, KB Digital Designs, Sanitas Skincare and Safelite Autoglass.
For information on supporting Kenzi’s Causes and its programs, visit www.KenzisCauses.org. Kenzi’s Causes was founded in 2007 after Jessica Bachus’ daughter Kenzi was stillborn at 24 weeks. Overcome with grief, Jessica felt compelled to channel her emotions into something that would honor Kenzi’s memory. With this notion, Kenzi’s Causes was created so that Jessica and her family could provide dolls to young girls at Christmastime who would otherwise go without. Jessica collected over 150 dolls the first year and since then Kenzi’s Causes has expanded, providing support to over 50,000 children across the state of Colorado. Jessica and her husband Kyle have three living children and are dedicated to serving the community they live in.
