2nd Annual Toy Shop a Success

Our 2nd Annual Dolls for Daughters® and Toys for Boys® Toy Shop was a huge success. On December 10, 2011 in the gym at Stanley British Primary School our nonprofit gave away 7,463 new toys to families in need. The wait for the first family in the door began at 4:30 am and ended when our doors opened at 9:45am. Once inside each child was able to have a new toy and a stocking stuffer. The first 500 families were able to take home food from the Food Bank of the Rockies.

This event could not have taken place without the support and time of hundreds of volunteers who helped during the year with events, donations and time. We would like to thank all of our volunteers who helped us make 2011 a HUGE success.

You can watch our story that aired on 9 News on Saturday evening.

Thank you to our event partners - Food Bank of the Rockies, Hunger Free Colorado and Four Mile Resource Center

We would like to thank our in-kind sponsors for their support:

About the Author

Kenzi's Causes

In 2007, Jessica Bachus started Dolls for Daughters®, after her daughter Kenzi was stillborn. She created an annual holiday Toy Drive for Colorado children who would not otherwise have toys during the holidays. Today, Kenzi's Causes collects more than 100,000 toys, stocking stuffers, books, toothbrush/toothpaste kits, backpacks, lunch boxes and other items to change the lives of children in Colorado through our programs. At this annual event, families are also provided with community resources to help improve their lives and the lives of their children.
