3rd Annual Dolls for Daughters® Invitational Scramble presented by aiotv raises more than $19,000

Dolls for Daughters® raised more than $19,000 for needy kids at its third Annual Invitational Scramble Golf Tournament on June 14th at The Ridge in Castle Pines North.

“Our golf tournament has become our single largest fundraiser of the year and probably the most fun we have all year with the exception of our toy shop in December where we give away thousands of toys to needy kids,” said Jessica Bachus, Dolls for Daughters®’ founder. “We want to thank our sponsors, volunteers and everyone who showed up to play for making this year’s tournament a really successful event.”

aio tv was the presenting sponsor for the tournament. Other sponsors were Dynalectric; Mike Miller, CPA; Brad Hamilton, Jones and Keller; Filsinger Energy Partners; Bachus and Schanker Cares Foundation; Northwestern Electrical; Benson and Case; JerryBrownPR; Hercules Industries; Freespirit Concepts, Inc.; Centennial Leasing and Sales; Experience Pros Directory; Richard Palmer-Smith; Acupuncture & Chiropractic of Denver; Good Neighbor Garage; The Smarter Image; Injury Rehabilitation Specialists and KB Digital Photography.

Proceeds from the golf tournament and other fundraising activities through the year will be used to buy toys for the annual Dolls for Daughters® and Boys Toy Shop to be held December 7. Last year 3,100 boys and girls received new toys at the toy shop. This year’s goal is to provide 3,200 children with a new toy, new stocking stuffer, stocking, new book and new toothbrush/toothpaste kit.

Founded in 2007, Dolls for Daughters® has rapidly grown to be one of Denver’s major contributors of toys for needy children at Christmas. Its sister organization, Kenzi’s Kidz, provides year-round financial support to several low-income families taking steps to create a stable environment for their children. The Kenzi’s Kidz families are chosen from clients of Warren Village, Joshua Station, Hope House of Colorado, and Crossroads Safehouse in Fort Collins based on nominations from the staffs of the three organizations.

We would like to thank everyone who helped put this event together to make it our most successful yet. If you’d like to be involved with planning of our tournament for 2014, please send an email to info.AT.dollsfordaughters.com, put Golf 2014 in the subject line.

Kenzi's Causes

In 2007, Jessica Bachus started Dolls for Daughters®, after her daughter Kenzi was stillborn. She created an annual holiday Toy Drive for Colorado children who would not otherwise have toys during the holidays. Today, Kenzi's Causes collects more than 100,000 toys, stocking stuffers, books, toothbrush/toothpaste kits, backpacks, lunch boxes and other items to change the lives of children in Colorado through our programs. At this annual event, families are also provided with community resources to help improve their lives and the lives of their children.
