A Day to Give Thanks

I started Dolls for Daughters® exactly three years ago this week. I had no idea the difference it would make. I also had no idea how much support I would get from friends. This story is about one such friend.

I have had the pleasure over the last year to get to know an amazing woman who experienced the loss of a daughter. This daughter’s name is Lacey. Lacey has an amazing mother named SuzAnne. Though our experiences, SuzAnne and I were brought together to give back to others who have lost a child. We forged a friendship and I am thankful for her and for that friendship.

SuzAnne’s family and friends bowl at Thanksgiving in memory of Lacey and this year she asked these friends and family to bring a doll to donate to Dolls for Daughters®. Boy did they bring dolls, they bought 112 dolls. Yes 112 dolls to give back to Dolls for Daughters® and our community. Wow! Thank you SuzAnne! Thank you to the amazing people you have in your life that are willing to give back in memory of Kenzi and Lacey.

Kenzi's Causes

In 2007, Jessica Bachus started Dolls for Daughters®, after her daughter Kenzi was stillborn. She created an annual holiday Toy Drive for Colorado children who would not otherwise have toys during the holidays. Today, Kenzi's Causes collects more than 100,000 toys, stocking stuffers, books, toothbrush/toothpaste kits, backpacks, lunch boxes and other items to change the lives of children in Colorado through our programs. At this annual event, families are also provided with community resources to help improve their lives and the lives of their children.
