A Summer of Growth: The Impact of Summer Camp on Kenzi’s Kidz
School is out for the summer! For kids, this means freedom, fun, and endless play. But for parents, it can quickly turn into a season of panic. Who is going to watch the kids while they’re at work? How can parents provide an enriching experience for their children that won’t completely break the bank? And let’s be honest, we don’t want their brains melting away in front of the TV as fast as ice cream in the summer heat.

Every summer, Kenzi’s Causes sends children enrolled in our Kenzi’s Kidz program to Stanley summer camp, providing them with experiences that foster growth, joy, and development. The benefits of summer day camp extend far beyond a way to get out of the house. It’s a time for kids to build character, develop social skills, and create lifelong memories!
Kenzi’s Kidz parent, Jacquelin Gonzalez, shares about her daughter, Allyiah, attending camp, “I think summer camp has definitely been the most beneficial thing Kenzi’s Kidz provides because it helps economically for us parents who work, who would need to pay a nanny. But not only that, I can see how much it nurtures my daughter emotionally, physically, and mentally.”
Our goal at Kenzi’s Kidz is to provide children with opportunities that build confidence and inspire dreams. From attending summer day camps to experiencing activities that spark joy, our Kenzi’s Kidz thrive in profound and lasting ways!
Karen Shungu, the legal guardian of her four younger siblings, shares, “Over the summer, instead of the kids staying home, they go to summer camp, and their characters have developed so much better.”
Summer day camp not only nurtures children emotionally, physically, and mentally, but it also provides significant economic relief for parents. It means parents can work without the added stress of childcare costs, and children receive enriched experiences that would otherwise be out of reach.
