Beyond Resources: A Mother’s Journey to Community Connection

Maria Gonzalez is a dedicated and lively mother of three exceptional children: Adrian, Adilene, and Ariana. Adrian, who is eight years old, is a passionate martial artist and soccer player. Adilene, at four years old, loves ballet, and Ariana, who is two years old, has a great love for the outdoors and animals. Maria joined Kenzi's Kidz a year ago and has found the program's support to be a blessing for her family. The program provides a range of vital resources, including food, gift cards, meal bags, clothing, toys, and shoes. However, the most profound impact of the program for Maria has been the sense of kinship, warmth, and shared experiences. Through regular monthly gatherings organized by Kenzi's Causes, families like Maria's have found a place to bond and create beautiful memories, even in the tightest financial circumstances. Reflecting on her experience with Kenzi's Causes, Maria once said,

"It's wonderful to be able to take our children to fun activities when we wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise."

When asked to describe her experience with Kenzi's Causes in a single word, Maria chose "resourceful." For her, it signifies a beacon of hope, love, and an enduring support system.  Kenzi's Kidz is more than just a program; it is a vital lifeline, a haven, a network of compassionate hearts, and a powerful message that collective efforts can make an immeasurable difference. The program is a testament to the power of community and the importance of coming together to support those in need.  We are deeply grateful to every individual who has played a part in the success story of Kenzi's Kidz program. Thanks to your generosity, commitment, and belief, families like the Gonzalez's have found not just aid but also a family in us.

Kenzi's Causes

In 2007, Jessica Bachus started Dolls for Daughters®, after her daughter Kenzi was stillborn. She created an annual holiday Toy Drive for Colorado children who would not otherwise have toys during the holidays. Today, Kenzi's Causes collects more than 100,000 toys, stocking stuffers, books, toothbrush/toothpaste kits, backpacks, lunch boxes and other items to change the lives of children in Colorado through our programs. At this annual event, families are also provided with community resources to help improve their lives and the lives of their children.
