Give 5! in honor of Kenzi’s 5th Birthday

Happy 5th Birthday Kenzi! It seems like just yesterday I was thinking about life with two little girls running around the house, growing up together, and being best friends. However that has never been our reality. Today you are 5 and I hope that your celebration is just as special as ours is. We will attend Mass for you, release balloons with our special messages and go to dinner to celebrate. We will share our wishes for you and the joys that you have brought us. As hard as I try not to cry, it is impossible. I cry for what was lost and I cry for what you have inspired me to create.

I have always known you were a blessing to me and that you made me a better person. This past year, more than any other year, I have been able to see the joy you have brought to so many. I was able to look past my pain and see the joy in the children’s faces at the toy shop, see the joy in the parent’s faces and see the joy in the volunteers’ faces. I have been able to open my heart even more to this joy and it often just makes my fill up with warmth.

As our family celebrates your 5th birthday I am hoping that all of our donors will consider participating in “Give 5”. “Give 5” is making a $5.00 donate in celebration of your birthday. Even though you never took an actual breath, we celebrate this as your birthday. It is my hope that your 5th birthday will raise $500.00 to help fund our mission by providing new stocking stuffers to at least 500 kids at our 3rd Annual Dolls for Daughters® and Toys for Boys® Toy Shop in December.
