Kenzi’s Causes raises over $150,000 to serve 6,500 low income children for back to school

What started as one mother’s grieving response to the death of a daughter has grown into one of Denver’s most respected nonprofits serving needy children. More than 100 guests attended our inaugural Gala at the Gaylord Fundraiser on Saturday, June 3rd to raise over $150,000 for Kenzi’s Causes. “Our goal is to serve 6,500 children through our Annual Pazk4Kidz and partnering nonprofits across Colorado this year. We know the community is in need of services and want to be able provide support for as many kids as we can this year.” -Jessica Bachus, Founder & Executive Director Attendees at the Gala at the Gaylord fundraiser enjoyed an evening out with entertainment from Spinphony, a silent auction, live auction and heard from supporters on how they can help make an impact. Cathy Griffin and Adam Ferguson co-emceed the event and Halie Behr of Behr Fundraising had the paddles raised high to raise funds during mission moment. Greystar received the Collector Supreme Award for collecting the most toys in 2022 and Northwestern Electrical was awarded the Champion for Kidz award for their ongoing dedication to our mission. Daneille Duran was also named Volunteer of the Year for her tireless efforts in donating time to volunteering at our Packs4Kidz giveaways and toy shops. This event offers many opportunities for local support and involvement; Corporate Sponsorships, tickets, and raffle items donated by businesses and individuals. This year, over $61,000 in items were donated to the live and silent auction and there were five event Sponsors: Global Medical Response, W.G. Nielsen and Co., Suncor, Denver Life Magazine, and Tito’s. Overcome with grief, Jessica felt compelled to channel her emotions into something that would honor Kenzi’s memory. With this notion, Kenzi’s Causes was created so that Jessica and her family could provide dolls to young girls at Christmastime who would otherwise go without. Jessica collected over 150 dolls the first year and since then Kenzi’s Causes has expanded, providing support to over 151,000 children across Colorado.  Jessica and her husband Kyle have three living children and are dedicated to serving the community they live in.

Kenzi's Causes

In 2007, Jessica Bachus started Dolls for Daughters®, after her daughter Kenzi was stillborn. She created an annual holiday Toy Drive for Colorado children who would not otherwise have toys during the holidays. Today, Kenzi's Causes collects more than 100,000 toys, stocking stuffers, books, toothbrush/toothpaste kits, backpacks, lunch boxes and other items to change the lives of children in Colorado through our programs. At this annual event, families are also provided with community resources to help improve their lives and the lives of their children.
