Kicking Goals Off the Field: Regis Jesuit Boys Soccer Team Builds Bikes and Brighter Future

That was the case this week when 14 young men from the Regis Jesuit High School Boys Soccer Team came together not to score goals, but to build something even more lasting: 14 brand-new bikes for children in our Denver Toy Shop program. As the holidays draw near, these 14 bikes are more than just shiny wheels and handlebars. They represent freedom, joy, and a sense of belonging for 14 children who have never had a bike of their own. For some, this may be the only bike they receive for years to come. But thanks to the heart and hands of 14 student athletes, those children will feel the thrill of hopping onto their first bike—the wind in their hair, laughter in the air, and memories that will last a lifetime. It's been said that volunteering is “the rent we pay for living on this earth.” For these young men, the lesson was not lost. They smiled, worked, and encouraged one another while assembling each bike—understanding that what they were building was bigger than the sum of its parts.
