Sponsor Spotlight: Sooper Credit Union’s Investment in Their Community

Sooper Credit Union is a full-service, not-for-profit financial institution with a mission to empower its members' financial journeys. When this fiscally responsible team isn't opening new accounts and dispensing loans to 36,000 members, they're investing their time and energy in the community they call home.  Sooper Credit Union holds community as one of its core values and supports its members and neighbors to thrive and achieve their goals. As Sooper Credit Union's Community Impact Advocate, Terry Carter-Davis explains,

“We positively impact the financial well-being of our community through volunteerism and the support of sponsorships, donations, and scholarships so we can empower as many people as possible to take charge of their lives.”

While it will be the first year Sooper Credit Union supports our organization, most of their employees have donated and volunteered with us in the past. Now, with the collective support of the entire institution, we will be able to extend our reach and serve more children and their families in our communities.   In fact, over the recent Easter holiday, this thoughtful and generous team hosted an Easter celebration for Kenzi's Kidz families. The team provided delicious meals, crafts, and activities for the children, such as meeting the Easter Bunny. They also handed out Easter baskets filled with goodies and toys to the kids. The happy expressions on family members' faces clearly showed how much effort was put into planning this event. It was a day that our Kenzi's Kidz families will remember for years to come. The organization's commitment to helping those in need extends beyond Easter. In addition, this radically generous team has offered to sponsor and stuff 150 new backpacks with school supplies drives between their Aurora and Colorado Springs branches. All the school supplies collected will be donated to our Packz 4 Kidz initiative, which impacted 6,537 children last year. Our causes have greatly benefited from Sooper Credit Union's support and involvement. We are thankful for their contribution and hope to maintain our partnership as we work towards creating more equity and prosperity for families in need within our Colorado community.

Kenzi's Causes

In 2007, Jessica Bachus started Dolls for Daughters®, after her daughter Kenzi was stillborn. She created an annual holiday Toy Drive for Colorado children who would not otherwise have toys during the holidays. Today, Kenzi's Causes collects more than 100,000 toys, stocking stuffers, books, toothbrush/toothpaste kits, backpacks, lunch boxes and other items to change the lives of children in Colorado through our programs. At this annual event, families are also provided with community resources to help improve their lives and the lives of their children.
