Love in Action: How One Family Found Joy Through Kenzi’s Kidz
February is a time to celebrate love, not just the kind we see in cards and chocolates, but the love that exists in community, generosity, and the simple joy of being together. At Kenzi’s Causes, love is at the heart of everything we do, and no one understands that better than Jacquelin Gonzalez and her daughter, Aaliyah.
For five years, Jacquelin and Aaliyah have been part of Kenzi’s Kidz program, providing support, experiences, and a sense of belonging to families facing financial hardships. For them, love is found in everyday moments, such as painting, roller skating, dancing, and watching their favorite shows together. But the love and support they’ve received from Kenzi’s Kidz has made all the difference in their journey.
“Kenzi’s Causes has made an impact by providing a community for our family,” Jacquelin shares. “It always feels like family.”
More than just financial assistance, Kenzi’s Kidz offers connection and support—a reminder that no family should have to face challenges alone. From monthly gatherings to special experiences, the program gives parents like Jacquelin and children like Aaliyah a place where they feel seen, valued, and cared for.
“Kenzi’s Causes has also made an impact by giving us support whenever we need it most.”
For Jacquelin, one of the biggest blessings has been summer camp for Aaliyah.
“I don’t know that without Kenzi’s Causes, I would have been able to afford it,”
She says, “Summer camp has been the most beneficial thing because it helps economically for parents who work and would otherwise need to pay for childcare. But beyond that, I see how much it nurtures my daughter emotionally, physically, and mentally.”
Every month, Kenzi’s Kidz brings families together for a new experience. For Jacquelin and Aaliyah, swimming events are always a favorite.
“Swimming always gives us a positive, high-energy feeling—and it’s my daughter’s favorite activity!”
These moments are more than just fun—they are memories that last a lifetime. The chance to laugh, play, and enjoy life together is something Jacquelin cherishes, and it’s made possible through the generosity of those who support Kenzi’s Kidz.
“Being part of the Kenzi’s Kidz program has changed my life as a parent,” Jacquelin shares. “It’s taught me to be more patient and empathetic. The love they show our children is beautiful.”
She also feels inspired by the presence of Jessica and Julie, whose dedication to the program encourages her to practice more patience and presence in her own life.
