The Kenzi's Causes Open House Event | What This Means for Our Families Going Forward

In late January of this year, we announced the new location for Kenzi’s Causes main office. This past month, we were finally able to host an Open House event open to the community. With the world opening back up, we enjoyed each other’s company and celebrated what this new space will mean for our families going forward. Learn more about our space and how it will help impact our families in our Kenzi’s Kidz Program below.

A Recap on our Open House Event for Kenzi’s Causes!

We opened our doors to the community, the families in our program, and our generous supporters to stop by and see what Kenzi’s House is all about!  We’ve slowly been getting settled and making this space a welcoming “safe haven” for the families in our program since our move-in in January. Nestled in Aurora, CO, this space is much more than just our “main office” or the “KC Headquarters” (although it is both of those things too)!

We call it “Kenzi’s House” for a reason.

If you haven’t heard about our big dream house initiative, read all about it here or visit this page on our website. Basically, this space gets us one step closer in making Kenzi’s Dream House come true. We’re just so grateful to be able to grow into this space and prepare for the space we one day will have. ❤️

Inside Kenzi’s House

This may be where our staff is hard at work, but it’s also a place where the families and kids in our program can go to learn, grab essential items, or just relax when they need a little change in perspective.  Greetings from our reception desk!  As you continue through our space, you’ll see a computer area that is to specifically serve our families. Whether one of the parent’s in our program is taking a course or applying for a new job, or their kids need to print something out for school — this computer area is to serve as a resource for them in any way it can.  We also provide a food pantry through this home! So far, this year, since being in this space, we have provided 2,175 meals, 1,128 lbs of food and 417 lbs of goods to our Kenzi's Kidz families! This is making a HUGE difference in the lives of these families, especially during such a difficult time.  Last but not least, we have shelves stocked with lots of books for the kiddos in our program. We really want this space to be as comfortable as it is functional for our families.  We really are one big family here at Kenzi’s Causes and we want this space to serve as our blended home. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came to support our Open House!

We were able to secure 75lbs of goods and 207 lbs of food donated on the day of our open house. ❤️❤️❤️ We are thankful for everyone who helped make our dream come true and we are thrilled that we have the 1st edition of our “Kenzi's House” to welcome families and create an even greater impact.

A big shoutout to our Kenzi's House Sponsors!

About the Author

Kenzi's Causes

In 2007, Jessica Bachus started Dolls for Daughters®, after her daughter Kenzi was stillborn. She created an annual holiday Toy Drive for Colorado children who would not otherwise have toys during the holidays. Today, Kenzi's Causes collects more than 100,000 toys, stocking stuffers, books, toothbrush/toothpaste kits, backpacks, lunch boxes and other items to change the lives of children in Colorado through our programs. At this annual event, families are also provided with community resources to help improve their lives and the lives of their children.
