What It’s Like to Be a Board Member With Kenzi’s Causes
What It’s Like to Be a Board Member for Kenzi’s Causes
Becoming a board member is a chance to use your unique gifts and talents to support an organization you believe in. For Erik Carruth, joining the Kenzi’s Causes Board was exactly that which then led to so much more.Erik shares, “The heart of our community is big and strong. That is shown not only from the individuals that volunteer at the events....but also take part in the events...as well as the individuals that are supported by the events. It just warms my heart to see a group of individuals come together as a community to help those that need it.”What’s a day in the life look like for one of our board members? Well, you could be working on a number of initiatives! From big-picture planning and strategy for the future of Kenzi’s Causes to meeting families and even rolling up your sleeves to pack backpacks – our board members truly do it all, and we could not be more grateful.
Why Serve on a Nonprofit Board?
Serving on a nonprofit board has countless benefits for both yourself and your community. As an individual, it’s your chance to be a part of something bigger than yourself. Focusing on how you can benefit those around you is a proven way to increase your self-esteem, combat depression, and brighten an otherwise negative season of your life. Plus, when you see that your unique skills and talents are actually a service to others, it’s incredibly humbling and rewarding. Doing good does wonders to our mental health and personal development!“My professional experience gives me the ability to help the organization make sound financial decisions to help us grow and serve more families in our community,” said Chad Brady, another one of our incredible board members. “My passion for the work that we do allows us to expand and improve our efforts in the community.”Our Kenzi’s Causes families can benefit directly from YOU. Whether you’re a teacher, makeup artist, mechanic, doctor, or have any other career – there’s something only YOU can bring to the table and we know what a massive impact having you around would make to our kids.
