Partnerships are key to our success. We know that having long, lasting partnerships in the communities we serve help us impact more than 15,000 low-income children across the state. A valued partnership we have is with Safelite.
Yesterday, Safelite provided 12 volunteers to help us clean out our storage and count toys that were donated to us at the end of the year. In about two hours we were able to count all the items that were donated and put them back inside our storage. Without the help of these volunteers, we would have been doing this work all day.
The donation of new toys, school supplies, stuffed animals and more will help us reach our goal of serving 20,000 children through our programs in 2020. We break down the items donated to for our toy shop program into three main categories – big toys, stuffed animals and small toys. The donation provided us with 3,775 big toys, 156 stuffed animals and 2,689 small toys. The value of these donated items is over $125,000. The best part of this donation is the variety of toys we will have to offer the families in 2020 at our toy shop.
A huge thank you to the team of volunteers from Safelite for helping us make a difference in the lives of families in 2020.
