Annual Toy Drive in Colorado Springs

Since 2016, Kenzi’s Causes has been committed to supporting children and families in Colorado Springs through our Annual Toy Shop program. Our mission is to bring joy to children in need by providing them with new gifts during the holiday season. Each year, we aim to make the holidays brighter for 500 children, from birth to 18 years old.

What Each Child Receives

  • A brand-new toy
  • A new small toy
  • A new stocking

How to Register

Registration is required to participate in the Colorado Springs Toy Shop. Registration opens at 9 am on the Wednesday before the event. Be sure to register promptly, as spots are limited.

Important Requirements:

  • Birth certificates are required for each child you wish to register.
  • Parents must bring a photo ID — no exceptions will be made.
  • A completed survey, provided on the day of the event, must be filled out before you can shop.

  • This event is free, and attendance is not mandatory. If you do not find a gift that suits your child, you are not obligated to leave with anything.
  • We kindly ask that you refrain from posting negative comments on social media if the toys available do not meet your expectations, as this event is provided at no cost to you.

Who is Eligible to receive toys?

In order to participate, you MUST have a birth certificate for each of your children and you will be able to receive the items listed above for each child. Birth certificates from anywhere are accepted, you do not have to be a resident of Colorado Springs to receive services. We WILL NOT accept any other form of proof related to your child(ren). No social security cards, no school id’s, etc. You must have a birth certificate even if your child(ren) are in attendance. You must have a picture ID along with the birth certificates of their children to receive services. The ID can be a driver’s license, passport, ID card, etc but it MUST have the parents first and last name and photo on it. No exceptions will be made.

You will NOT be allowed to shop for anyone other than your child(ren).

A limited number of people will be allowed inside the toy shop at a time. Each household must also complete an anonymous survey that will be provided the day of the event. These surveys help us get funding for this event each year.

Do I have to be a resident of Colorado Springs to come to this toy shop?

No, you do not have to be a resident of Colorado Springs to receive services at this toy shop. You can attend any of our toy shops that are located near you. You may only attend one of the toy shops per year, per family.

Do I need to sign up or register for this before the event?

Yes, Registration is REQUIRED for the Colorado Springs Toy Shop.

When registration is open, we will post a link to the website as well as our Facebook page.

What do I need to bring with me to receive toys for my child?

  • You will need to bring a birth certificate for each of your children. We WILL NOT accept any other form of proof related to your child(ren).

  • We encourage you to bring a large, black lawn bag to take your toys home in or something that can help you transport your items from our venue to your vehicle.

Can I bring someone else kids Birth certificate and still shop for them?

No, you will NOT be allowed to shop for anyone other than your child(ren).

Can I shop for my stepchildren?

Yes, you can if you have a copy of your marriage license and a copy of your spouse’s ID that is the parent of those children.

What if I have legal custody of children that are not mine and need assistance?

If you have legal custody of children that are not yours, you will need to bring documentation stating you have custody of the children. This can be on letterhead of a social service agency or state agency. It must state your name and the names of each of the children you have custody or guardianship for.
 
You MUST also bring your photo ID and their birth certificates.

I am disabled, can I shop early or come to the front of the line when I arrive?

This event is open to anyone and we do not discriminate, however, everyone must wait their turn in line.

I would like to volunteer but I also need to get toys.

You need to wait in line and get your gifts before you can volunteer. Register for a later volunteer shift.
