Starting a nonprofit organization is enough to teach you a thing or two about gratitude. Seeing a smile on a person’s face that is in need; watching volunteers step up to help without question; having random people submit monthly donations to a good cause — all of these moments will naturally deepen your understanding of gratitude.
With all that said, I really feel as though gratitude is very much alive in each of our lives more than ever before. After experiencing a global pandemic, this tragedy swept over any and all walks of life, affecting all of us in very different ways. Whether it was a health issue, financial issue, or even a mental health issue from the isolation — people all over the globe have been fighting their own battle in some way.
The bright side? It taught us humility and strengthened our empathy towards one another. It taught us how much we love spending time together and how simple it is to take the littlest things for granted like our ability to meet in person. It taught us how impactful our own actions can be on the lives of others and that taking care of yourself inevitably means also be taking care of your neighbor.
Our actions speak louder than words and even during a global pandemic, the amount of generosity hasn’t stopped. In fact, we are continuing to rise beyond our previous years’ funding goals for the majority of our causes.
Now, if that’s not something to be grateful for, I don’t know what is!
We are living through trying times, there’s no doubt about that! But I do believe that most people are good and as a whole, we are fighting together for a better tomorrow.
We just wanted to take a minute to express our gratitude — to all our donors, sponsors, staff, and volunteers who are helping us make a positive impact in our community — we couldn’t do any of this without you.
Not to mention, we want to show gratitude to the families that we support. We get to serve and assist some of the most amazing people. We mean it when we say we are one big family around here! Thank you for trusting us and allowing us to be a part of your family’s lives.
Give Gratitude. Let’s continue to come together to help our community.
Once you recognize how grateful you are for the life you have to live, you start to see things a little differently. Gratitude puts things into perspective so if you’re blessed enough to be in the position to help those who are not as fortunate, that is a powerful and amazing thing.
You’re not obligated… but just know how impactful and grateful someone else would be for your giving.
Let’s hang in there and keep looking out for one another.
