Something new for this year’s Dolls for Daughters® Toy Shop.
As always, every child who comes to the Toy Shop on December 8 at will receive a new toy.
But this year they’ll also receive a toothbrush, toothpaste and a new book.
The book is A Glove of Their Own, a heartwarming story of generosity and selflessness that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.
Want a copy of A Glove of Their Own for yourself or one of the children in your life? You can order it at www.agloveoftheirown.com. And Dolls for Daughters® will receive $3 if you use the code DFD-123.
But we’re also asking supporters to help us provide a copy of this book to every child who attends this year’s Toy Shop. You can do that by buying a copy and donating it to Dolls for Daughters®. Or you can make a cash donation and we’ll buy the books directly.
You’ll find more information about A Glove of Their Own on our website or the authors’ website. Just be sure to enter the code DFD-123 if you buy the book online so we’ll benefit from your purchase.
The toothbrushes and toothpaste were made possible by donations from Lodo Dental, Dr. Gary Radz and an anonymous donor.
“One of the things we’ve heard from medical professionals and others is that many of the children we serve don’t receive any dental care,” said Dolls for Daughters® founder Jessica Bachus. “In fact, many of them don’t even have a toothbrush.”
Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND) will also be on hand to provide information to families about where they can sign up for free dental screenings.
“Providing a new toy at Christmas for needy kids is at the heart of what we do,” Bachus said. “But we also offer additional resources to families to make it a little easier for them to provide for their children.”
