“Let your smile change the world, don’t let the world change your smile” – Conner Franta.
A smile may be a familiar gesture we exchange throughout the day, but for Dannielle Duran, it’s more than just a common expression we casually emit. A smile holds the power to create connection and community. It says, “I see you and acknowledge you,” and fills Danielle’s heart with a sense of purpose.
As a dedicated educator at Highline Community Elementary since 2018 and a mother of six, Dannielle is passionate about making a difference in the lives of as many students as possible. And when her best friend, Julie, introduced her to Kenzi’s Causes, Danielle was inspired to participate in bringing these initiatives to fruition.
“My values are very similar to Kenzi’s Causes. I want to help as many kids enjoy school and the holiday season. To see the smiles on their faces is amazing.”
For the last five years, Danielle has been a devoted volunteer for our Annual Toy Drive Initiatives and Packz 4 Kidz causes. Her enthusiasm, compassion, and genuine willingness to serve those less fortunate make her a vital asset to the team and the overall success of each cause. During the events, Danielle enjoys meeting the children and their families within her community, and continues to experience how powerful a smile truly can be. Danielle explains,
“Every time I volunteer at these events, I see all the families we help from all over, especially the kids who go to the school I work at. To see their smiling faces brings me so much joy as I have a special connection with them.”
As Kenzi’s Causes continues to grow and serve more families throughout Colorado, we are grateful for our committed volunteers like Danielle. Her enthusiasm and desire to uplift her community members is inspiring, and we look forward to our continued partnership as we strive to raise funds for 6,500 backpacks and 18,000 toys in 2023.
