Launched in September 2024, Sportz 4 Kidz is a program by Kenzi’s Causes designed to make sports accessible to all children in Colorado, regardless of their family’s financial situation. Understanding the significant role that sports play in a child’s development, Sportz 4 Kidz covers sports fees and provides necessary gear to ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate. Applications will open quarterly in January, April, July, and October, allowing families to apply throughout the year. At Kenzi’s Causes, we believe that the benefits of sports extend far beyond physical health. Research shows that participating in sports can significantly enhance a child’s physical, mental, and social well-being. Children who play sports tend to have lower stress levels, improved self-esteem, and better academic performance. Additionally, sports help develop crucial life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

Football is my son's passion. However, it is very expensive. When I was not able to cover all the fees and expenses, Kenzi's Causes helped and kept my son in football and playing the sport he loves.

Your support can transform a child’s life by giving them access to sports. With just $10, you can sponsor a water bottle, or with $25, provide a child with a sports ball for their favorite game. A $50 donation helps cover the cost of specialized shoes, while $100 contributes to registration fees. What is Sportz4Kidz?

Sportz4Kidz is a program of Kenzi’s Causes launched in September 2024 to help make youth sports more accessible and affordable for families across Colorado. The program provides financial assistance for sports registration fees and, in some cases, required uniforms or gear, so children can participate regardless of their family’s financial situation.

Applications are shared only when they are open.
Please make sure you are following Kenzi’s Causes on Facebook and Instagram, as application links and updates are posted on our Facebook page and shared in our Instagram stories when funding rounds open.

Applications are not available year-round and are only accessible during open application periods.

Applications typically open quarterly in:

  • January

  • April

  • July

  • October

Application openings are dependent on available funding. If additional funding becomes available, we may open additional application rounds, which will be announced on our Facebook page.

We fund children who:

  • Are ages 3–18

  • Live in Colorado

  • Are interested in participating in a sport or organized athletic activity

  • Demonstrate financial need

Yes. You may apply for funding for each eligible child, but a separate application must be completed for each child.

Due to limited funding and the high number of applications we receive, we are often unable to fund the same child more than once in a calendar year.

Currently, during Q1 (January) of each year, applications are limited to new families only to allow us to reach as many children as possible.

We consider funding for any activity defined as a sport, meaning:

An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others.

Funding decisions are made based on eligibility, need, available funding, and alignment with our program goals.

In some cases, travel expenses have been funded, but all travel-related requests are evaluated individually and are not guaranteed.

Yes. We encourage families to contact United Way by dialing 2-1-1 (211) and ask about additional community resources that may provide assistance with youth sports, activities, or fees.
