Kenzi’s Causes hosted its Annual Colordo Springs Packz4Kidz backpack giveaway on Saturday, July 27, 2024, providing 300 new backpacks filled with school supplies to children in preschool through 12th grade. This drive-up, first-come, first-served event was held at the YMCA and sponsored by Air Academy Credit Union.

Volunteer coordinator Madison Vistuba reported that all the backpacks were given away in just 12 minutes, suggesting that next year, they could distribute 400 backpacks to meet the growing demand. This event was made possible through the generous support of our sponsors: Air Academy Credit Union, Basis Partners, Safelite Autoglass, Academy Kids Dental, Vision and Orthodontics, and the YMCA.

Kenzi’s Causes has been positively impacting disadvantaged children in Colorado Springs since 2017 through the Toy Shop program and since 2020 through the Packz4Kidz backpack program. Our annual Toy Shop event in Colorado Springs is scheduled for December 7, 2024, continuing our mission to support children during the holiday season.

Kenzi’s Causes was founded in memory of Kenzi Bachus, who was stillborn on January 23, 2007. Her mother, Jessica Bachus, established the organization in 2009 with a mission to impact as many disadvantaged children in Colorado as possible through the Packz4Kidz and Toy Shop programs.
