Our Toy Shops are now over, and the year is ending! This year was full of so many accomplishments even through all the hardships like COVID. We are still standing strong, and it is thanks to everyone who believed in us. We are so thankful to each and every one of you who has helped us make an impact in our Colorado community!
This month’s sponsor recognition has been supporting Kenzi’s Causes for a while and has always shown their support to the fullest! They know why we put in all the hard work for Colorado children, even though their main audience may not be children. “Although children are only a quarter of the population, they are 100% of our future”
Meet Kira & Madison from Air Academy Federal Credit Union
Kenzi’s Causes and Air Academy Federal Credit Union story aligned when Kira attended a presentation at the KOAA Channel 5 studios and heard Jessica, Kenzi’s Causes Executive Director and Founder, share her story first-hand. At the time Kenzi’s Causes was looking to expand our annual Toy Shop program to the Colorado Springs market but needed sponsors and volunteers to achieve that goal. AAFCU was excited at the opportunity to support Kenzi’s Causes as the Colorado Springs’ Toy Shop’s presenting sponsor that year. AAFCU collected toys at its 8 locations and had its employees volunteer to help serve 498 children and over 170 families.
Kira then went on to volunteer at her very first toy shop in 2017. She experienced many families sharing their stories of struggle, stories of loss, and stories of hope for a better year to come. The gratitude expressed by those who served that day left a lasting impression on Kira and on the hearts of AAFCU’s employees. “Every single employee who worked the Toy Shop that day was honored to have served their community.”
Since then, AAFCU has continued to support us. You may have seen a few of their toy barrels this year being decorated as fun and cute themes to try and collect as many toys as possible for our annual toy shops.
Last year Madison joined us at our Colorado Springs Toy Shop. Madison and her team helped us figure out a way to socially distance while making sure every person who came to the shop received toys.
“I was blown away by the grace and understanding of not only our volunteers and co-sponsors but also that of the attendees/parents who attended to receive toys. The community truly came together that day!”
“Working with Kenzi’s Causes is a great opportunity for employees to engage with a community project that is easy to get behind, as well as provide teambuilding volunteer opportunities to your staff.”
AAFCU’s favorite thing about working with Kenzi’s Causes is that we are easy to work with while making a great impact.
“With Kenzi’s Causes Toy Shops and backpack programs, the requirements are straightforward and easy to accomplish. Kenzi’s Causes makes it easy for people going through a tough time to receive the help they need to provide their kids with the supplies they need to start the school year and to have a happy holiday – because every child deserves that.”
Kira and Madison’s team are so in love with all that we do that they have employees asking about how they can volunteer/ help at our Toy Shops starting in October!
You Too Can Support Kenzi’s Causes
So much of the incredible work we can do at Kenzi’s Causes is directly because of the support we have from our phenomenal sponsors, and we could always use additional support! If you or your company are interested in getting involved and helping impact children in Colorado, email our Executive Director Jessica Bachus at [email protected]. Our first fundraising event in 2022, Bowl4Kidz will take place in March and we’d love to have your support.
