DENVER, March 14, 2019 – What started as one mother’s grieving response to the death of a daughter has grown into one of Denver’s most respected nonprofits serving needy children.
After a week of uncertainty, more than 90 participants took to the lanes at Bowlero Cherry Creek on Saturday, March 14th to raise over $10,000 for Kenzi’s Causes. Safelite Autoglass sponsored the three-hour Bowl4Kidz event, which successfully brought in over 164 new toys for the annual toy shop. Proceeds from the event will also help fund the Dolls for Daughters and Toys for Boys Toy Shop in December.
“In 2019 we provided holiday assistance to a record 15,031 children in Colorado from Longmont, Fort Collins, Denver and all the way to Grand County. We have the privilege of helping thousands of people enjoy the spirit of the season as we provide “Christmas” to families who in their current financial situation cannot fulfill their child’s Christmas wish. Our goal is to serve 15,000 children through our Annual Dolls for Daughters and Toys for Boys Toy Shop and our partnering nonprofits this year and the Bowl4Kidz event is a great to start our toy collection.” -Jessica Bachus, Founder & Executive Director
Bowl4Kidz has served primarily as a community event where families can give back while having fun; however, thanks to the generous support of participants and sponsors, it has grown to become an important fundraiser for the organization. Bowl4Kids offers many opportunities for local support and involvement; Corporate Sponsorships, bowling teams, and raffle items donated by businesses and individuals. This year, over $1,700 in items were donated to the raffle and there were eleven Corporate Sponsors:
Safelite Autoglass, FirstBank, Platte River Mortgage, Bachus & Shanker Cares Foundation, Aspen Wealth Strategies, Dwell Denver, AB Litigation Services, Primal Wear, Ross Investigators, CTLA, Keller Williams and Robert Half.

Dolls for Daughters was founded in 2007 after Jessica Bachus’ daughter Kenzi was stillborn at 24 weeks. Overcome with grief, Jessica felt compelled to channel her emotions into something that would honor Kenzi’s memory. With this notion, Kenzi’s Causes was created so that Jessica and her family could provide dolls to young girls at Christmastime who would otherwise go without. Jessica collected over 150 dolls the first year and since then Kenzi’s Causes has expanded, providing support to over 65,000 children across Colorado. Jessica and her husband Kyle have three living children and are dedicated to serving the community they live in.
