When the Medina family was first nominated to join Kenzi’s Causes in 2015, they couldn’t have imagined how deeply the organization would shape their lives. What began as a simple act of kindness, grew into an eleven‑year relationship built on trust, encouragement, and community.
That first year was full of excitement. Celina, Maria, and Alex III dove into gymnastics, acrobatics, and other activities that brought joy and confidence. The family received school supplies, new clothes, Halloween costumes, and Christmas toys-essentials that made daily life easier and holidays magical. But what stood out most wasn’t just the gifts; it was the care behind them. They offered emotional encouragement and even connected the family with local bankers and donors who helped them learn financial stability.
As their lives stabilized, the Medinas found joy in giving back. They volunteered at the Christmas Toy Drive and Back‑to‑School Drive, helping other families experience the same warmth they once received. Over time, they became part of the Kenzi’s Causes family in every sense-returning as alumni, mentoring younger participants, and celebrating milestones together.
Celina’s first job as a junior counselor at summer camp, Alex’s unforgettable moment throwing the first pitch at a Rockies game, and Maria’s cherished handmade birthday cards-all became symbols of how Kenzi’s Causes nurtures not just families, but futures.
Through every season, Kenzi’s Causes continued to show up. Thanksgiving meals, Christmas gifts, new beds and dressers when the kids needed them-each act of generosity reminded the Medinas that they were never alone. Even when the family welcomed three nephews during a difficult time, Kenzi’s Causes extended their support without hesitation.
For the parents, that reliability meant everything. “When times are tough and raising children can have their moments,” the family shared, “I know I can pick up the phone and have a real loving and supportive conversation without judgment.”
